The man quickly answered, "Oh sorry ma'am, there isn't one for about 20 miles."
"Okay, thank you for your help sir."
For the first time Jennifer looked closely at the man. He had beautiful brown eyes. He had curly brown hair. With a haircut, new clothes, and some gel he may actually look pretty good. He couldn't be over 35! "He's a normal person, just like me, but he has gone through hard times. Maybe he lost his job like me, but he just doesn't have extra money." Right then and there, Jennifer decided she was going to spend 24 hours helping people who, well, just needed help.
She asked the man, "What do most homeless people need?" The man replied with a list of many things but it wasn't even a quarter of the things she owned. She Jennifer said thank you, went to her car and drove to the nearest Target. She bought all of the Kleenex, toilet paper, toothbrushes, clothes, and many other things. Then she bought food, crackers, juice and other necessary food. For the next four hours she drove around giving all the homeless people she saw a bag with each of the things she had bought. But when she ran out of people and things she decided she needed to volunteer 20 more hours. As she was driving she passed a nursing home. She walked in an talked to the lady at the front desk. Jennifer told her her situation and the lady directed her to the left. Jennifer walked in and was shocked. There were elderly people everywhere, but she only saw 3 or 4 nurses. She asked the nurse what she could do to help.
**5 HOURS LATER**
Jennifer walked out of the nursing home with a smile on her face. she actually felt really good. "Maybe I should do this more often!" Jennifer spent the rest of the night helping people who needed it. She volunteered at the hospital, gave groceries to immigrant families and visited old people who lived in isolation.
The next day when Jennifer was walking down the street she saw a magazine vendor. To her surprise the headlines said, "Jennifer Morrison Spends 24 Hours Helping Others". Next to it was a picture of her serving soup at a soup kitchen. Jennifer had a brilliant idea! She could use her publicity to educate others and encourage them to volunteer!
