So often we get caught up in what we know. It can be hard to remove our blinders and look outside of what we are comfortable with - new foods, new experiences and even new people.
Jesus, on the other hand, was quick to reach out to those who would have been outside of the comfort zone of others. In Mark 1:40-42, for example, Jesus touches a man with leprosy and heals him. Doing so would have been a big risk! Jesus' compassion for the leper was larger than his fear of being judged.
Take the time to reach out to one person you might not normally be drawn to, even if it means moving outside of your regular social group. Sit with someone who sits alone at lunch. Talk to someone you wouldn't normally talk to. Remember that everyone was made in the image of God and allow that to help you develop a passion for all people.
